Police investigate as American tourist, 59, is found dead at hotel in Cambodia

An American tourist was found dead in a hotel room in Cambodia as police launched an investigation into the death.
Thomas Adair Tyler III, 59, from Pennsylvania, was staying in Room 304 of the Paris Hotel in Battambang.
Staff found him lifeless at around 2 pm local time on June 29 when he failed to answer the door.
Police said he was travelling on a US passport.
Forensic officers from the Battambang Provincial Police examined the scene and collected the body for a post-mortem exam to determine the cause of death.
Authorities have not yet released any preliminary findings or said whether foul play is suspected.
Thomas was transferred by immigration police to Wat Steung Meanchey temple in Phnom Penh, following approval from Tut Vinit, deputy prosecutor at the Battambang Provincial Court.
Officials said the US Embassy in Cambodia has been notified and will contact the tourist's relatives to arrange his repatriation.
