Ten South Koreans were arrested at a luxury condominium in Thailand in a crackdown on an alleged transnational gambling empire.

The suspects were allegedly running the illegal online gambling sites ‘Redbet' and ‘Blackbet', which had more than 1.5 million users and a revenue of over 500 million baht a month.

Immigration police traced the network to two luxury condominium units in Bangkok's Sukhumvit area before raiding the properties on October 7.

Four suspects were arrested at one unit, where officers seized 11 laptops, 12 OTP generators, a hardware wallet and 11 mobile phones.

Six more were caught at another unit, with police seizing 21 laptops, 19 OTP generators, a hardware wallet and 19 mobile phones.

The raids were carried out by Immigration Division 6 and Immigration Bureau investigators with South Korean police.

Police Colonel Charoenphong Khantilo, spokesman for Immigration Division 6 said officers were expanding the probe to continue the crackdown.

He said: 'The commander of Immigration Division 6 ordered the investigative team to accelerate the expansion of asset seizures and inspect the entire network of accomplices.

‘Furthermore, South Korean police will request the transfer of evidence to prosecute these suspects after they are extradited to face trial in South Korea.'
