A jealous boyfriend was arrested as the body of his heavily-tattooed girlfriend was found dumped in a rubbish bin in Thailand.

The suspect, 16, allegedly flew into a jealous rage when he discovered that his girlfriend Chonthicha Prasertrat, 17, had met with another man in Rayong province.

During the argument, he allegedly stabbed the petite teenager repeatedly with a knife before covering her body in a hoodie and stuffing her inside a black rubbish bag.

He then drove a motorcycle sidecar and dumped her corpse in a rubbish bin on a remote road around two miles away.

Shocked garbage collectors discovered the decomposing body while making their routine rubbish collection rounds on June 18.

They said the blue plastic barrel emitted an unusually foul odour, but they thought nothing of it as they poured the contents into a compactor.

But when the machine was activated, the black rubbish bag burst, exposing the girl's maggot-covered corpse.

Police and forensic officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report. They said the deceased was heavily decomposed, with long red hair, fair skin, and a petite build. She also had stab wounds to her abdomen.

She was taken to a hospital, where her parents verified her identity through the large tattoo on her back of a cat wearing a Chinese New Year lion costume.

Officers launched an investigation and found that Chonthicha, pictured in selfies that showed off her tattooed bosom, had left her family on June 8, reportedly to stay with Pete.

She refused to answer calls, but sent LINE messages to her parents until June 13, when she never replied again.

Police detained Pete for questioning and he allegedly confessed to the crime.

Police Major General Chokchai Ngamwong, deputy commander of Provincial Police Region 2, said: 'The youth confessed to being the perpetrator, with the motive allegedly stemming from jealousy and a conflict over a personal relationship with the deceased.

'The girl had gone to collect a motorcycle before returning. They had a heated argument after the boy grew jealous and accused her of having a relationship with the motorcycle's owner.

‘However, we are still gathering forensic evidence, autopsy results, and witness statements in order to finalise the case file and determine the appropriate charges based on the available evidence.

‘Furthermore, we are preparing to proceed with the suspect in accordance with juvenile legal procedures.'

Authorities raided Pete's house, where they found some of Chonthicha's belongings, including shoes, a towel, a comb, a bra, a shoulder bag, and a basket. They also seized the blue-and-white Honda Wave sidecar motorcycle allegedly used to transport the body.

Pete said he had discarded some of Chonthicha's clothes in an attempt to conceal evidence.

Neighbours said that before the incident, the pair were seen riding past their house together as usual.

Speaking after the grim discovery, Chonthicha's father said he was horrified by the way his daughter's body had been treated

Her father said: 'It's absolutely outrageous what he did to my daughter. I want the police to get revenge on the perpetrator.

'My daughter was filled with maggots until she was bloated. How could you throw her in the trash? She's a person, not a dog.

'If you were mad at her, it's better to just break up and go your separate ways to start anew. You didn't have to kill her.'

Police said Pete remains detained, with a multidisciplinary team helping to handle the case as he was a minor.
