Minibus packed with passengers crashes into chemical truck leaving 13 injured

A minibus full of passengers crashed into a chemical truck, leaving 13 people injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Thailand.
The packed minibus was coasting along Srinakarin Road near Bangkok when it was reportedly rear-ended by a white Toyota sedan, in the early hours of June 9.
Passengers screamed as the impact shunted the vehicle toward a chemical truck ahead.
Several commuters were flung onto the street as the minibus smashed into the truck.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where metal debris was strewn near the wreckage.
Three passengers had been thrown from the vehicle, including one who suffered serious injuries, while 10 others were hurt inside the minibus, found with its left side crumpled.
Rescuers administered first aid before transporting the wounded to nearby hospitals.
Minibus driver Karn Samkhumpim, who suffered minor injuries, said he had just dropped off passengers and was preparing to overtake the truck when he spotted headlights rapidly approaching from behind.
He said: 'Moments later, the sedan ploughed into the rear of my car. There more than 10 passengers were onboard. We are lucky no one was killed.'
Police have photographed the wreckage and summoned all drivers involved for questioning.
Investigators said they will review CCTV footage to determine the cause of the crash before pursuing further legal action.
Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
