Police raid nail salon 'being used as gambling den' in Thailand..

Police raided a nail salon allegedly being used as a gambling den in Thailand.
Officers stormed the Chouly Nails shop in 'Sin City' Pattaya, following a tipoff that suspected gamblers were secretly playing cards for cash inside.
They entered the property, decked out in glossy tiles and rows of nail polish displayed on illuminated arch-shaped shelves, in the early hours of May 19, where seven people were caught in the middle of a card game.
The suspects were reportedly shocked while they were gathered around a large grey couch used as a makeshift gambling table, with money and cards spread across.
Police Colonel Anek Srathongyoo, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, said all seven suspects were arrested while officers seized playing cards, cash and other gambling equipment as evidence.
He added: 'They were taken to Pattaya City Police Station and charged with jointly engaging in illegal gambling. They were handed over to investigators to proceed with legal action.'
Most forms of gambling are illegal in Thailand under the country's Gambling Act of 1935.
Poker, and other games like slot machines and baccarat, fall under the law's 'List A' and are prohibited.
Organisers of List A games may be punished with detention between three months and three years, and a fine ranging from 500 to 5,000 baht.
While players may be jailed for up to three years, fined up to 5,000 baht, or both.
