A Polish tourist was arrested for allegedly blackmailing his ex-girlfriend with the threat of revenge porn.

The suspect, whose identity was not disclosed by police, reportedly begged his ex 'Rochelle' to take him back before threatening to post her nude photos and sex videos when she refused.

He also demanded a 55,000 PHP 'reimbursement' for expenses when they lived together, and asked to meet up in Pasay City in Manila, the Philippines.

The pair were talking in a busy restaurant on April 28 when undercover police swooped in to arrest the Pole.

Officers seized his phone containing the explicit material.

He was said to have broken down in tears while being hauled away by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Organised and Transnational Crime Division.

Authorities said they were preparing to file charges of 'robbery with intimidation' and violations of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act against him.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag said: 'The woman was being blackmailed. He wanted to reconcile with her and he had other demands. He showed proof of their sexual encounters and threatened to release them if she refused.'

Rochelle said she was 'traumatised' by her vengeful ex, whom she met five months ago in popular beach destination La Union, some 170 miles north of the capital Manila. They had shared expenses for housing, travel, and daily needs during their whirlwind romance.

She said: 'He showed me screenshots of his camera roll that showed my videos. He said he wouldn't delete them until I paid him back. He wanted 55,000 PHP.

'We had no agreement that that money was borrowed. Suddenly, he blackmailed me. He had videos I didn't even know he filmed.'

However, the suspect denied blackmailing Rochelle, insisting he only asked her to repay her debt.

The sniffling tourist told local reporters through tears: 'I thought it's ok to have it on my phone. I went to a haircut, got new clothes and everything, I thought we were going to meet and start to fix things today.'

He claimed he and Rochelle had 'talked many times' about marriage before their split.

He continued: 'I just want to say sorry. Forgive me. I want to move forward and leave. I'm sorry.'

Police said the Polish man was held in NBI custody as charges are being prepared.
